Fall is synonymous with change, and as a lover of change, I’ve always anticipated the season with a feeling of exhilaration. Like a prelude to Christmas! There’s crispness in the air, the children’s excitement of returning to school, foliage changes, and new colorations and textures of fruits and vegetables available at farm stands and markets. It’s time to enjoy warm, cozy gatherings with friends and family around the fireplace. It's a beautiful season with many opportunities and celebrations.

But OOOPS! I’m not in NY, I’m in Florida!

This is my first fall season in Florida. As a transplant from NY in January, I enjoyed a warm winter here in Sunny Isles Beach – certainly didn’t miss the frigid temperatures and tons of snow that snapped branches, and buried my (former) Westhampton Beach home. Summer was another story! Not crazy about H-H-H, but felt very smug that the weather here was the same as up north!

Now it’s fall, and I’m wondering how I will fare with lack of seasonal change. Truthfully, I’ll miss it. But in a few short months…around November, I’ll be really glad to be here!
